RSG can provide you with a wide range of laboratory testing to resolve questions regarding the purity, quality or nature of nearly any product. 

• Halide testing packages or products to determine if they were wetted with fresh water (rain or snow) or saltwater (seawater).

• Microbiological testing of products to determine if any harmful bacteria has contaminated the products.  Typical microbiological testing includes an Aerobic Panel to determine total bacteria count (both harmful and non-harmful), including Escherichia Coli  (E.Coli), Salmonella, Listeria Vidas, and Staphylococcus Aureus, as well as a coliform count.

• Mold and yeast testing to determine if there is any degree of contamination by the growth of mold or mildew that might, or might not be detectable by normal visual and olfactory observations.

• Free Fatty Acid testing to detect rancidity.

• Organoleptic testing using a control sample to determine if there has been any deterioration of the taste, texture, odor or color of the product.

• Steel shipping drum and pail examination to determine if the metal has failed from fatigue or other causes not related to transportation.

RSG can take samples of the packaging and/or product and submit them on your behalf to one of the several certified independent testing laboratories for evaluation.  The results will be interpreted and submitted to you electronically by RSG in a format that is easy to interpret and can be useful in adjudicating cargo claims
